This is an exciting time in the Ruby Community. We are welcoming many new developers from bootcamps and online code schools. We need more developers. We want to hire more developers. We want to hire you.
Many of the new Ruby developers we interview are nervous during the technical interview. It is difficult for us to evaluate nervous candidates. We can't be confident in your skills if you're not confident.
It doesn't have to be so daunting. We are just engineers. We want to talk to you about Ruby. We love Ruby. We hope you love Ruby too.
Understanding the process and practicing can prepare candidates for technical interviews. Knowing what to expect and being prepared is the best way to enter an interview with confidence.
I gave a talk at RubyConf 2015 to help new Ruby Developers. I explain the interview process and provide tips on how to practice and prepare. There is also a good question and answer session at the end.
